'Unfriended: Dark Web' Review

'Unfriended: Dark Web' Review
An Unsettling Blumhouse Horror Flick

Rating: ★★★★

Told solely through a single laptop screen, when a 20-something finds a cache of mysterious hidden files on his new laptop, he and his friends are unwillingly and unintentionally thrusted into the depths of the dark web. What follows in 'Unfriended: Dark Web', the standalone sequel to 2015's 'Unfriended', is one of the most unsettling psychological thrillers out there.
Featuring authentic performances from the cast, moments of dumb writing, fictional disturbing found footage-esque scenes amplified by its realistic nature and a strong and interesting premise, for many (including this reviewer), this film is a hard watch but for those who watch till the end will be met with a surprisingly well-made thriller. Watch at your own risk.
