Better Than Expected
I remember a couple of years ago, watching this with my cousin Erin Osborne on a small tablet screen. It wasn't the best way to watch it but I enjoyed it. I gave ★★★ when first watched it.
Now, having seen it a second time, to get ready for 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters', I can say I enjoyed it quite a bit more. Decisions by the characters in the movie and by the director and writers made more sense. The opening scene was fantastic, the dining room scene was the foundation of the film and set up everything to come, and this movie's take on a terrible, overdone twist ending was great. And the acting was pretty good too. I was truly terrified at times. The score, the script and the cinematography was so good.
One of the better Christmas-Horror hybrids.
I am excited to see what Michael Dougherty will do with Godzilla.
